Autumn Part I from twiddletails

I've been working on this one for a while - January of 2023, to be exact. Wow, that's almost 2 years!

I'm getting ready to complete the top today or tomorrow, making it a finish for 2024, since I count tops as finishes.
The quilting will have to wait.

I always lack an answer when asked how long a quilt took to make. It's always such a hard one to answer, unless you are one of those rare quilters who only work on one project at a time.
Every so often, I contemplate starting a timer, just ...

Bumpkin Pumpkins ~ UFO Quilt #6 2023 from Podunk Pretties

Bumpkin Pumpkins is finally finished!  This UFO is about 4 or 5 years old.  It's one of my own original designs.  The quilting was finished months ago on October 15, 2022.  The next day I sewed the binding on the front of the quilt with every intentions of having this gal done before Halloween 2022.  As you can see that didn't happen.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of orange or black I really like how this one turned out and I can't wait to use it this coming fall.

It could be the many ...

So Thankful from Needle and Foot

OK – this is such a sweet little finish! Remember I mentioned Julia is learning to embroider and to knit? She stitched the word thankful for me on a simple square of quilting cotton. (She was looking for something to do and I asked her to stitch one word I could display during the fall season.)

I knew I would make something very understated with this. Using a deep red scrap, I sewed on the first border. It finished at 3/4″ wide. Then I took an earthy brown scrap and attached a second border which finished at 1 1/4 ...

An autumn finish for the Fat Quarter Flourish Quilt Parade from Carried Away Quilting

It’s September 30, the day we parade our completed Fat Quarter Flourish quilt tops! I hope you had a chance to join My Timeless Day and me for this fun project.

I sewed up an autumn version of Fat Quarter Flourish, featuring splendid fall fabrics by Lori Holt and Sandy Gervais (Riley Blake). My version is available as a kit from My Timeless Day.  Won't this make a lovely addition to my Thanksgiving table?

I had hoped to have mine all quilted and bound by the time September 30 rolled around, but life seemed to get in the ...

Pumpkin Sky pillow: A welcoming touch for my front porch from Carried Away Quilting

The first week of September has ushered in bright, crisp days for those of us in Minnesota. I plan to spend part of my Labor Day weekend doing some fall decorating. As a jump start, I added a few autumn elements to my front porch, including my newest Pumpkin Sky pillow.

I hope you don’t remember that I was working on this white, butterscotch and denim version of my Pumpkin Sky pillow in September of last year! I finally got my ducks in a row and sent it off to be quilted by my friend Barb at Quilts on ...
